Umlauf Sculpture Garden Wedding | Lindsey and Joel
Lindsay first saw Joel at a bar in San Antonio while visiting for a wedding she was in and told her friends “I’m going to talk to Clark Kent over there”. Her and Joel had an instant connection, but the timing wasn’t right until almost a year later when Joel travelled to Dallas and decided to look up the cute girl that he met at that bar in San Antonio.
Lindsay and Joel had a “winter” wedding in Austin last December at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and it was the most beautiful fall day of my life. The trees turned so late in 2018 that December 1 was bursting with magical foliage— perfect for mine and Lindsay’s shared love for all things fall. I’m pretty sure Joel was crying before he even turned around to see Lindsay during their first look and somehow between all of the tears and laughter these two were able to pull themselves together for some amazing golden portraits. They had a sunset ceremony under a lit arbor, had the dreamiest candlelit dinner, and then partied so hard to a live band called PDA. I had the time of my life photographing them and their guests dancing and singing their hearts out. Not long after the wedding Lindsay and Joel moved to California which is awesome for them, but sad for me since I had big plans for Lindsay and I to watch Practical Magic and do all of the fall things together. Regardless I know that there will be more Lindsay in my future— she started her own branding company called Ink and Ellie and I can’t wait to collaborate with her some day!
