Mt. Rainier Anniversary Session
Woweee I don’t even know where to start with this one, but I’m sure gonna try to keep it short (enough). This is Leesha and Michael. Two of my very best pals who live in Olympia, Washington. Every year Leesha and Michael take anniversary photos + write each other updated vows-- a fresh take on the promises they made on their wedding day.
Michael and Leesha are each other's biggest fans-- Leesha cheered on Michael for years as he competed in and won several bodybuilding competitions and then the better part of their second year of marriage revolved around Mt. Rainier (Leesha’s other spouse, hah!) as Leesha trained and completed her summit of the mountain. You read that right and yes, she is a badass. Leesha probably spends just as much time on this mountain as she does at home. Not only because she is an adventure elopement photographer in the PNW, but also because her true passion is exploring, learning, and caring for the earth.
I was planning to be in Washington around their anniversary so Leesha asked me to take their anniversary photos in the park to which I said uhyaduhonmyway. It was a huge honor because I knew how special this mountain was to Leesha. We would do what Leesha said was a “short” and “easy” hike that had one of the best views of Mt. Rainier. Only one of those things was true… The mountain looked insane from the fire lookout we hiked to, but the weather was temperamental that day and the on and off again fog only gave us a short window of time with her. But the time was sweet and the renewed vows were short enough so it all worked out to be a magical, unique, top notch kind of day. <3
