Brazos Hall Wedding | Reema and Joe
Reema +Joe
I was so honored that Reema asked me to photograph her and Joe's two day celebration. The day before the wedding I photographed the Prayer Ceremony as well as the Mehndi Ceremony. As if I wasn't excited enough about photographing the actual wedding, these two ceremonies took my excitement to the next level. The day of Reema and Joe's wedding was a whirlwind. After taking some getting ready photos we headed to the venue to capture the Baraat- a common part of Indian tradition where the groom rides a horse to the venue. Unfortunately Joe is allergic to horses?! Turns out that his allergy is bittersweet because he got to ride in a pretty sick car instead. The car followed behind the crowd of guests dancing through the street and it was probably the best time i've ever had EVER.
I have truly never felt more welcomed by a group of wedding guests in my life-- every guest was so warm and joyful. One of my very favorite parts of the reception was the Flamenco ensemble that came out to celebrate Joe's Mexican heritage. I think I was grinning the entire day.
Reema + Joe,
Thank you for letting me witness and photograph such special traditions. Y'alls wedding was truly a marriage of families and culture. You two are the loveliest and so obviously bring your families a ton of joy-- i'll never forget this experience.
